Unwrapping Web3 #4: Exploring Your Crypto Wallet - 2

In the last article, we explored the Home tab of the Zerion app, and now, we are going to check out other tabs and how they help you in your Web3 journey.

Explore

This tab allows you to explore DeFi trends and narratives directly from your wallet. Scrolling down, you can see different segments on topics like DeFi Indexes, Trending NFTs, DeFi Blue Chips, and more.

Some of these terms may sound unfamiliar, but you’ll come to understand them as we proceed with this series.

With the search bar at the top of the page, you can look for specific assets or protocols by name or category. The scanner icon on the right allows you to quickly access any decentralized application (DApp) by scanning the QR code it provides, enabling easier navigation between different DeFi platforms.

Actions

Tapping on this tab will bring up a list of actions that you probably recognize from the previous article: Swap, Send, Receive, Bridge, and Buy.

This tab provides another convenient way for you to access these functions.

Browser

Visit any website - both Web2 and Web3 platforms - instantly from the Zerion app with its in-built browser. Being a decentralized app, Zerion doesn’t collect any private data, allowing you to enjoy a seamless browsing experience while keeping your data secure.

Simply type the website’s URL in the search bar or copy and paste it using the handy Paste & Go button.

Settings

This is the last tab but definitely not the least. It holds the key to customizing your Zerion experience. As you can see, it provides a variety of options for you to customize the app to your preference.

Let’s start with the first on the list:

Manage Wallets

This is another hub on the app to import wallets like hardware or software wallets, manage existing ones, and create new ones. Click on your wallet to view your recovery phrase or back it up to your Google Drive.

Networks

This page displays a list of different Blockchain networks, categorized under Mainnets, Testnets, and Custom.

Mainnets: are live public Blockchain networks where actual transactions occur with real tokens that possess value.

Testnets: are simulated versions of mainnets where tests are carried out with test tokens and no real-world value.

We’re going to dive deeper into these concepts in our next article where we talk about networks.

With the Custom section or the + button at the top-right corner, you can add any network available on the Blockchain to your wallet.

Security

Here’s a list of quick operations you can carry out here to secure your wallets and assets.

Change Passcode: Regularly update your passcode for an extra layer of protection.

Sign in with Fingerprint: Access your Zerion app quickly with just a touch of your finger on the sensor.

Transactions with Fingerprint: Instantly and securely approve transactions within the app with just your fingerprint.

If you value financial privacy, there are two convenient options provided for you to keep your balance discreet.

Hide balance by flip: With a simple flip of your phone, you can easily hide your wallet’s balance. Although this is still a beta feature, it has proven effective already.

Hide balance when entering the app: No gesture is needed with this as your balance remains hidden until you choose to view it.

Appearance

Change the theme of your wallet to your liking. Light mode, dark mode, or system mode which allows it to adapt to whatever theme your phone is in.

Preferences

Display your balance in any currency and switch languages easily for a more personalized experience.

Notifications

Here you can choose to receive notifications from Zerion or not. Activating this would keep you on track with activities in your wallets like transactions or security alerts. Simply tap the gear icon to access your phone’s settings and activate Zerion notifications.

Privacy

Zerion provides you with the option to share or opt out of sharing usage app analytics.
